Climbing rose bushes can rise anywhere from eight to 20 feet on arbors, fences, trellises and larger mailboxes. As climbing rose bushes continue to grow, be sure to monitor their progress and use rose ties to stabilize new growth and point the climbing in the preferred direction.

Many grafted plants are labeled as such, but if not, look for a little gnarly lump or ring at the base of the stems. Almost all roses sold at big home stores, or by big-name breeders like David Austin, are grafted.

'Belinda's Blush' is a color sport of one of our favorite roses, 'Belinda's Dream'. Similar in size and growth habit, this rose offers fragrant, full blooms of a light, creamy pink that are excellent for cutting. Canes free of thorns are always appreciated.
'Coles Settlement' is a large six-foot shrub that exhibits single white flowers that can reach four inches across in cool weather. Flowers are followed by large orange hips in the fall. This is a wonderful rose to plant where you can enjoy its reflective flowers at dusk or on moonlit evenings. Coles Settlement was one of the earliest communities in Independence, TX. (circa 1820).
'Thomas Affleck' was bred at our nursery and named in honor of a notable 19th century nurseryman who had a nursery just a few miles from ours. The intensely cerise pink, semi-double blooms make a bold statement in the garden. It is a wonderful specimen for a mixed planting or large container and is useful near a walkway where its fragrance and thornless nature can be appreciated.
Like the true Rose of Jericho, this plant also dries up completely and blows around until it finds a puddle where it can get a drink and revive itself. Instead of northeast Africa and the Middle East, the false Rose of Jericho comes from the Chihuahuan desert of Mexico, New Mexico, and Arizona.
Not when they grow as they are intended to, in nature, and without human intervention or the chemical cocktail used when growing roses commercially for florists or markets for display, weddings, and aesthetics.
These freeze dried rose petals look exactly the same as a fresh rose petal, not all dried up like the ones you often see packaged in the shops, so they are the best edible rose petals for cake decorating.

Answer: You can plant your rose seed, but they will not mature, as shown in the picture. Many misleading plants and seeds are sold online, and this is one of them. The rose shown in the advertisement is a rambling hybrid climber with beautiful double red roses. It is not seed-grown. All hybrid roses available today are specially bred varieties grown from rooted cuttings or cuttings grafted onto a rootstock (probably a bit too much technical information). To put it plainly, rose cuttings are snipped off stem tips taken from hybrid roses. These are then dipped in a hormone that helps them root, and placed in lightly moist soil until they root and can be potted up and eventually planted into the ground.
If you want to try starting your rose seeds, they need to be chilled to enable them to sprout. Plant them in pots or a small tray of vermiculite that is just moist, not wet. Place the pots or vermiculite in a plastic bag and then chill them in the refrigerator fr 10-12 weeks. Then remove them and place them under grow lights or in a sunny window. Keep the vermiculite just moist. Ambient room temperature is ideal. They may take several weeks to sprout. Placing them on a heat mat can encourage faster germination.

This hardy hibiscus is an easy-to-grow shrub. Valued for its tight, upright form and large summer blossoms that are trumpet-shaped, it will add color to the landscape when few other plants are in bloom. The rose-of-sharon is suited to formal or informal plantings, groupings, shrub borders, hedges, and screens.
The rose-of-sharon is native to China and India. The name hibiscus is from an ancient Greek name for "mallow," for this plant was thought to resemble the mallow blossom. Many cultivars of this species have been introduced.
